Before hydro jetting we always run a camera through the line. Hydro jetting is extremely effective but it must be used appropriately. Equipment Setup
We insert a specialized jetting nozzle attached to a high pressure hose into the pipe through a cleanout or access point. The nozzle has both forward and rear facing jets. The forward jets cut through blockages. The rear jets propel the nozzle through the pipe and scrub the walls as it moves.
Jetting
We work through the full length of the pipe at the appropriate pressure for your pipe diameter and material. The water pressure we use ranges from 1,500 PSI for residential drain lines to 4,000 PSI for larger sewer mains. All debris, roots, grease, and buildup is flushed completely out of the line into the municipal sewer system.
Post Jetting Camera Check
After jetting we run the camera again to confirm the line is clear and check whether the cleaning revealed any structural issues in the pipe that were previously hidden by the buildup.
Hydro Jetting vs Drain Snaking
Both methods clear blockages but they work very differently and produce very different results.
A drain snake is a mechanical cable that either breaks up a blockage or hooks and pulls it out. It is fast and inexpensive for isolated clogs. However it does not clean the pipe walls, it leaves debris behind, and it does not address the root cause of recurring blockages.
Hydro jetting thoroughly cleans the entire interior of the pipe from wall to wall. It removes everything and leaves the pipe in a condition close to new. For recurring clogs, older pipes with accumulation, or lines that have not been professionally serviced in years, hydro jetting produces results that snaking simply cannot match.
